We want a clean, safe Rhine. This is why it is important for us to know when precipitation falls, and how much. Precipitation is rain, hail or snow.
We don’t just want to know what the weather will be like tomorrow. We also want to know what is happening to the climate.
The climate is the average weather conditions over a period of 30 years in an area. Different areas have different climates. Part of the catchment area of the Rhine has a maritime climate, part has a continental climate and in the Alps there is a high mountain climate. Read more about the Rhineland climates.
